Show full item recordAbstract: | This is a is a pioneering study on the fossil avifauna of the Dominican Republic. Before this publication, little to no work had been dedicated to documenting the region's fossil bird species, with earlier mentions being limited to a few records by Wetmore in 1922. Bernstein's research expands on these initial observations, offering a more comprehensive examination of fossil bird species found in the Dominican Republic. This study contributes to the broader understanding of avian evolution and paleoecology in the Caribbean, shedding light on the island's historical biodiversity. |
