Abstract

[Español] Naturalista de corazón y ávido ambientalista, fotógrafo y aventurero, Eladio Fernández explora los tesoros naturales de la República Dominicana. Durante los últimos 25 años, ha conseguido almacenar una de las colecciones más importantes de imágenes de flora y fauna de todo el continente. Autor de nueve libros de fotografía que reflejan desde el patrimonio natural cubano hasta el proceso de metamorfosis de las mariposas. Es un socio afiliado en la International League of Conservación Photographers (iLCP).

[English] Eladio Fernández is an Associate Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), a naturalist and an avid environmental activist from the Dominican Republic. He is author and publisher of nine photographic books that cover a diversity of subjects that range from Cuba’s natural heritage to the metamorphosis of native butterflies. He has one of the largest image banks on the flora, fauna and natural landscapes of the Greater Antilles. His photography work also documents disappearing cultural traditions of the Caribbean islands. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
