AbstractThis paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of sustainable development in the sugar industry of the Dominican Republic, focusing on the assessment of environmental and energy impact during sugar production in local mills. The implementation of lifecycle assessment (LCA) emerges as an essential tool to comprehend the complexity and implications of these crucial industrial operations in the Dominican context. The study addresses the implementation of sustainable practices in Dominican sugar mills, proposing innovative approaches based on LCA results.es
