Show full item recordAbstract: | This study aimed to conduct ground-truthing of 30 mangrove sites throughout the Protected Area of Three Bays (PA3B), Haiti, to determine the health status of the mangroves there and identify suitable conservation actions to preserve this ecosystem. The consultants analyzed changes in the biophysical conditions of the different mangrove species in the PA3B relative to conditions reported from previous fieldwork and provided data to improve the classification accuracy of mangroves for satellite imagery representation. Four species of mangroves were identified: black mangrove (Avicennia germinans), white mangrove (Laguncularia racemosa), buttonwood mangrove (Conocarpus erectus), and red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle). |
