Abstract:	After the introductory fact sheet and outline of key issues, this report is divided into three chapters. The first deals with institutional infrastructure, especially in the environmental context. The second reviews the country’s natural resources. The final chapter evaluates the nations ecological heritage and considers its past, current and foreseeable environmental problems. This report was requested by the Commission of the European Communities.
