Show full item recordAbstract: | Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival (CEBF) day 5 poster, dedicated to The Ridgway’s Hawk. This bird is found only on the island of Hispaniola, which is shared by the nations of Haiti and Dominican Republic. It is one of the most Critically Endangered raptors in the world, with fewer than 500 birds remaining. It hunts by maneuvering through the thick forest with the help of its broad wings and long tail, or by perching low to the ground in open areas scanning for prey. It feeds on snakes, as well as lizards and skinks, frogs and toads, small rodents, bats, and birds. As a complement to the poster, a coloring sheet is included. |
