BirdLife : Empowering the grassroots : community action for conservation and development

Abstract

BirdLife is supporting local communities to integrate conservation and livelihoods development at the local-level. BirdLife is developing a toolkit for rapid site-based assessment of ecosystem services, and building capacity to use it. BirdLife is working with the private sector to develop decision-support tools which help industry to avoid negative environmental impacts.
