Integrated water resources management, which takes into account climate change, especially in river basins, sub-basins and other sources of water supply for rural communities, is a requirement for any intervention related to water with which you want to address the impacts of climate change and the vulnerability of communities. Therefore, inter-sectoral and inter-community coordination is essential to address climate impacts in multiple sectors and regions of the country, to improve the efficiency of water collection and distribution, reduce losses and waste of water, and to lessen the effects of diseases related to water. The Program is designed to support the implementation of national priorities for
adaptation to climate change, as described in the National Adaptation Action Program of the Dominican Republic (PNACC-RD), as well as those highlighted in the Third National Communication to the UNFCCC. |
