Cytospora rhizophorae Kohlm. & E. Kohlm (Valsaceae, Ascomycota) en la República Dominicana

Abstract

[Español] Cytospora rhizophorae es un hongo patógeno y causa la muerte regresiva del mangle. Los cuerpos fructíferos son de color amarillo anaranjado, y requiere de una herida para infectar el huésped. Esta especie está adaptada a las altas temperaturas y concentraciones elevadas de salinidad. Se reporta la especie por primera vez para la República Dominicana sobre Rhizophora mangle y se documenta por primera vez la nanoornamentación de los cirros.

[English] Cytospora rhizophorae is a pathogenic fungus and causes regressive death of the mangrove. The fruiting bodies are orange-yellow in color and require a wound to infect the host. This species is adapted to high temperatures and high concentrations of salinity. The species is reported for the first time for the Dominican Republic on the Rhizophora mangle and the nanoornamentacion of cirrus is documented for the first time.
