AbstractLa historia de Akut-3, una tortuga Caguama (Caretta caretta) rescatada en Dalyan, Turquía, demuestra que la unión entre ciencia, compasión y tecnología puede cambiar vidas. Tras sufrir graves heridas en la cabeza causadas por una hélice de barco, recibió una prótesis de mandíbula impresa en 3D —la primera de su tipo en el mundo— que le permitió volver a alimentarse por sí misma. Finalmente, fue liberada al mar en 2015, y su historia sigue inspirando los esfuerzos de conservación de las especies marinas en peligro.es
