AbstractAccording to recent FAO studies, sustainable forest management has not been widely implemented in Latin America and the Caribbean, where the concept remains more theoretical than practical. This is partly due to a lack of information, which makes it difficult to gain a comprehensive understanding of forest management in the region, based on the limited number of documented cases. This publication seeks to address that gap by collecting, analyzing, and presenting exemplary cases of good forestry management. It features a range of forest management techniques and practices applied under different conditions across the region, highlighting the factors that contributed to their success to serve as models for replication. The book is also intended to support policymakers in developing and strengthening forestry policies at various levels of government in Latin America and the Caribbean, while also identifying the major challenges that remain.es
