AbstractSmall Island Developing States currently suffer the highest frequency of disasters in the world, ranging from severe flooding to violent storms, hurricanes and cyclones. Due to inherent vulnerabilities and the persistent lack of capacity to strengthen resilience, these disasters can in minutes wipe out development gains that took decades to achieve. The present report has been prepared through consultations with the relevant Sendai Focal Points from SIDS. The findings underscore the specific challenges that SIDS face in implementing the Sendai Framework, including the lack of human, institutional and technological capacity, the inadequacy of investments and financial resources, and persistent constraints in data generation and analysis. It also provides concrete recommendations on how to address these challenges, through the support of the international community and the UN System.es
