AbstractThe overall objective of the CLME project is the sustainable management of the shared living marine resources of the Caribbean large marine ecosystem and adjacent areas through an integrated management approach that will meet the World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD)’s target for sustainable fisheries. The objectives of the pilot projet "Management and Conservation of Reef Biodiversity and Fisheries" is to promote the ecosystem-based approach for the conservation and effective management of coral reef ecosystems and their associated resources in order to maintain their functional and structural integrity and biodiversity, and to ensure economic and social benefits for local communities and the region as a whole.es
