Larger than jaguars : Inputs for a strategic approach to biodiversity conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean : synthesis report

Abstract

As the biodiversity crisis worsens, its impact on economic and social development is becoming increasingly apparent. Strategies to tackle environmental degradation and climate change must therefore focus on ensuring that ecosystems can respond to high levels of pressure while continuing to provide services indispensable to human development and to life. Based on the findings of recent studies and the input of numerous local and international specialists, Larger than Jaguars provides guidelines for a strategic approach to biodiversity conservation for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
