Organisational strengthening : A toolkit for civil society organisations in the Caribbean

Abstract

This toolkit is an output of the Powering Innovations in Civil Society and Enterprises for Sustainability in the Caribbean (PISCES) project, which was implemented by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) between January 2017 and March 2021, in partnership with the Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation (C-CAM), the Caribbean Network of Fisherfolk Organisations (CNFO), the Environmental Awareness Group (EAG), the Fondation pour la Protection de la Biodiversité Marine (FoProBiM), Sustainable Grenadines Inc (SusGren), and the Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT). The PISCES project sought to support innovative actions by Caribbean civil society organisations (CSOs) and coastal community small and micro-enterprises for conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity and development of sustainable and resilient livelihoods. One component of the project aimed to strengthen the organisational capacity of CSOs working in and around the selected MPAs/MMAs, which comprised fisherfolk organisations (FFOs), community-based organisations (CBOs) and national non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
